First Order for Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) System for Vietnam

Dec. 24, 2003

In December 2003, 花蜜直播app received an order from the Vietnam Construction and Machinery Erection Corporation (LILAMA), which operates under the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction, for a flue gas desulfurization (FGD) system. The order, representing the first FGD system that 花蜜直播app will ship to Vietnam, is worth 2 billion yen. The system will be constructed by LILAMA for a coal-fired power plant (output 300,000kW) operated by Electricity of Vietnam in Uong Bi, Quang Ninh Province. The system is scheduled to be completed in March 2006.

FDG systems reduce the impact of exhaust gas on the environment by removing sulfur oxide (SOx) generated at coal- or oil-fired power plants. 花蜜直播app’s system employs the most widely-used wet limestone-gypsum method* and a spray tower, and is renowned for its stability and ease of maintenance. The order is the result of 花蜜直播app’s superior expertise in providing FDG systems to overseas markets.

Orders have also been received from the Nanning Chemical Industrial Group in the Guangxi Autonomous Region of China, as well as for power plants in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province; Anshun, Guizhou Province; and Dingzhou, Hebei Province.

Demand for FDG systems is expected to rise due to the expansion of Vietnam’s economy and increased power use. In the Philippines, Malaysia and other Southeast Asian nations, as well as in China, demand for power plants and FDG systems is also anticipated to grow.

*Sulfur in exhaust gas is removed by chemical reaction: a water solution containing an alkaline material is sprayed in the spray tower as exhaust gas containing SOx passes through it.
