Tokyo, October 15, 2024 — 花蜜直播app, Ltd. announced today its receipt of a supplemental type certificate (STC) from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism’s Civil Aviation Bureau for the HeROSS* helicopter rescue support system on September 18, 2024. This system was developed jointly with Central Helicopter Service, Ltd. and Shimadzu Corporation and is intended for use as optional equipment for 花蜜直播app’s latest-model helicopter, the H145//BK117 D-3.
*HeROSS: Helicopter Rescue Operation Support System

HeROSS is an environmental obstruction monitoring system that utilizes LiDAR(Light Detection And Ranging) and camera-equipped sensor pods mounted externally on the boarding steps at the bottom of the aircraft to gather omnidirectional information on obstructions and send this information to on-board tablet devices and/or helmet-mounted displays (HMDs) for purposes of warning helicopter crew. During helicopter-based personnel rescue operations in forests, mountainous regions and similar, obstacles and obstructions often force the helicopter to remain hovering throughout the rescue, which is why improved obstruction monitoring systems are needed. The inclusion of HeROSS in the aircraft reduces demand on crew, who would normally carry out all monitoring visually, and contributes to safer and more reliable rescue operations.

-    LiDAR equipment in the sensor pods affixed to both sides of the aircraft carries out sensing for the surrounding area and sends reliable information on detected obstructions to the crew in the form of color-coded warnings, with different colors indicating distances from the helicopter.
-    Cameras facing the rear and bottom sides are mounted in each sensing pod to provide assistance with safety checks around the aircraft.
-    Wi-Fi is used to wirelessly connect to a maximum of four information display devices. Two types of device are available: tablet and HMD.
